Episode 4-2 Preview!

Kuma

Hello there! In response to Azu’s Post about OGP’s alleged schedule, I thought I’d mark my first post with quite a bit of previews of Episode 4-2 content, as it’s very possible this will be released sometime in October. Episode 4-2 follows directly after Episode 4: Steel City (known as “Episode 2″ in our version; they are renumbered), and is titled The Space-Time Traveler (JP: 「時空の旅人」; KR: “시공의 여랭자”). Please click “more” at the bottom to see all of the new content we might be seeing very soon~

Ep.4-2: The Space-Time Traveler

Ep.4-2: The Space-Time Traveler

Episode 4-2 comes with 4 all-new areas to explore, complete with new instance bosses, monsters, and quests. NPC Tonio now sells “Space-Time Fragments” with which you can warp to the new areas with (they are one-time use and work like warp capsules). With this update, LaTale will see up to Lv170 content , not to mention quite a few new high-level unique weapons:

Fairytale
(フェアリーテール // 페어리테일)

Oberon & Titania

Oberon & Titania

Area Lv: 50+
Town Name: “Fairy Tree” 「妖精樹」
Field Area: “Flower Valley” 「花の渓谷」
Instance Dungeon: “Fairy Castle” 「妖精城」

Fairytale is a charming lower-level area for people in their 50s or 60s to explore. I absolutely love the soft, pastel colors; it truly is seemingly taken from a magical fairytale. The boss of the Instance Dungeon here is actually two people as “one” monster: Oberon and Titania . You might have heard these names before: they are the King and Queen of the fairies from Shakespeare’s play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Throughout the battle, Oberon and Titania seem to fight with each other, completely oblivious to the fact that you, the player, are caught in the middle of their quarrel! Oberon and Titania have one HP bar, so they are technically “one” monster, despite each having their own sprite.

Additionally, you can find Oberon’s Toolbox from the instance boss, Oberon & Titania:

Oberon’s Toolbox
Lv: 60
Bonus: Skill: Thunder Trap +1Lv (at +5: +2Lv)

Fairyland in the Sky

(天空の仙境 // 금란운계)

Lan Caihe (NPC)

Lan Caihe (NPC)

Area Lv: 110+

Town Name: “Heavenly Sky” 「天空」
Field Area: “Fairyland in the Sky” 「天空の仙境」
Instance Dungeon: “Power Boundary” 「動力区画」

Fairyland in the Sky is the next of the four new areas.  This Lv110+ area has a very mystical, eastern feel to it.  The Instance Dungeon here contains quite possibly one of the “coolest”-looking bosses to appear yet:  the Asura King.  He certainly stands out among the menagerie of “cutesy”, pastel monsters that grace LaTale, as do the unique weapons he drops.

There’s also two new weapons to collect from Asura King: the Asura Sword (2H) and the Asura Guitar:

Asura Sword(2H)

Lv: 120
Attack Power: 172-320
Bonuses:Activation Effect: Asura’s Vajra «Disables Physical Attacks» (Activation Chance: 5%?; Duration: 4sec?)

Asura Guitar

Lv: 120
Bonuses: Max HP healing +10% (Per Upgrade: +1%)

Mystery Zone

(ミステリーゾーン // 미스터리존)

Daisy (NPC)

Daisy (NPC)

Area Lv: 160+

Town Name: “Baker Street” 「ベーカー通り」

Field Area: “White Chapel” 「ホワイトチャペル」

Instance Dungeon: “Dark Tower” 「黒い塔」

And here we are at perhaps the most sinister and awesome of the new areas contained in this update! Mystery Zone is largely based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes character and the historical murderer, Jack the Ripper. The town’s name, “Baker Street”, is the same street on which the fictional Sherlock Holmes lived. “White Chapel” happens to be the district in 19th century London where the still-unknown Jack the Ripper killed numerous women. LaTale sure does draw on plenty of different fictiononal and mythological figures, huh~? As you’ve probably guessed by now, the Instance Dungeon boss here is none other than Jack the Ripper herself. Yes, that is not a mistake. As the real Jack the Ripper’s true identity was never discovered, many have begun to speculate the possibility that he could’ve actually been a she .

Quite the scary boss, no? Anyway, Jack has three new weapons to drop: Jack the Ripper’s Spear, Jack the Ripper’s Hammer, and Jack the Ripper’s Crossbow. They’re quite badass-looking, if I do say so myself. Because they’re Lv170, you can upgrade them every 4 levels as opposed to every 10.

Jack the Ripper’s Spear

Lv: 170
Attack Power: 292-357
Bonuses: Activation Effect: Bleeding Damage(?) (Activation Chance: 1%?; Duration: 30sec (500dmg/3sec))

Jack the Ripper’s Hammer

Lv: 170
Attack Power: 223-335
Bonuses: Activation Effect: Target Defense Decrease (Activation Chance: 2%?; Duration: 5sec? (Def reduced by 100%?))

Jack the Ripper’s Crossbow

Lv: 170
Attack Power: N/A
Bonuses: Skill: Streamshot II +1Lv(?) Skill: Needle Shower II +1Lv(?) (at +5, skill lv increases(?))

The Space-Time Rift
(時空の狭間 // 이름붙일 수 없는 곳)

Siam Vespucci

Siam Vespucci

Area Lv: Lv170+

Ah, the final destination on our space-time travel. Siam Vespucci (JP: 「サイアム・ヴェスプッチ」; KR: “사이암 베스푸치”) seems to be the the “Space-Time Traveler” in this episode, as she is the final boss we encounter using our space-time fragments. Using the “Space-Time Rift” fragment will take you straight into this Instance Dungeon, and Siam is the only boss inside. She’s around Lv170, and appears pretty tough to beat. However, the weapons she drops are incredibly beautiful~

Well, I bet you’ve been wondering what Siam’s unique weapons look like. Each of them sports an intricate rose design, as Siam’s skills appear to feature blue roses quite often. An interesting thing is that she drops two staves, as well as a dagger:

Siam’s Blue Staff

Lv: 170
Bonuses: Skill: Flame Burst II +1Lv(?); Cyclone Cutter II +1Lv(?) (At +5, skill level increases(?))

Siam’s Red Staff

Lv: 170
Bonuses: Skill: Sky Dragon Fang II +1Lv(?); Skill: Ice Fear II +1Lv(?) (At +5, skill level increases(?))

Siam’s Rose Dagger

Lv: 170
Attack Power: 234-286
Bonuses: Illusion Dagger II +1Lv(?); Skill: Deadly Dagger Throw II +1Lv(?) (At +5, skill level increases(?))

Fhew~ Welp, that’s all the new content included in Episode 4-2. It’s personally my favorite Episode so far (especially Mystery Zone~). An additional system introduced in this update was the “Item Stat Randomizer” system from NPC Tonio in Elias that takes your equipment’s current stats and completely randomizes its enchant stat type and value (for example, a Lv5 Str+15 stat could become Lv5 Magic+20, etc.). The success rate is 50% (does not destroy on fail). It takes durability away per attempt as well as any enchants you put on (purple-named), so be careful when you play with this dangerous system.

Hope you enjoy this future update as much as I will~

  13. Lavid says:

Sorry for double posting but i just noticed this in the video. What is that “title” thing on top of the GS? The one that says “Monster Hunter”.

  14. admin says:

    @Lavid -

The “Monster Hunter” title is a title received upon clearing the final floor of the Monster Tower (that building in the Big Apple map). It is purely for bragging rights only, as it has no stats.
