As you are probably already aware, I’ve been neglecting this blog for quite some time now. Due to lack of time and the fall semester fast approaching, I’ve decided to put the SR Blog on an indefinite hiatus. I sincerely apologize for not doing so earlier, but I’m not totally gone!

I’ve recently completed the layout for my main site, EternalTale.net. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it, but I did upload my entire gallery of fanart received over the months for my OC/Game Character Kuma. If you’re interested, you can check it out here.

Additionally, if you haven’t heard yet, the LaTale GAs are conducting a LaTale Player Feedback Survey. All participants who answer every required question (and leave their main IGN) will receive a free golden dart of luck! Prize give-out dates are currently TBA. Hurray, Hell’s Door has been officially announced! This means we’ll soon see the implementation of 5th skills, a major feature we’ve (mostly) all been waiting for. This also means I have an excuse to get off my lazy butt and post something (hopefully) useful. So, I’ll post the series of “quests” or “missions” you have to complete in order to obtain your 5th skill.

Some basic information you should know about 5th skills includes:

• Must be Lv125 to learn
• Costs 2 skill points per skill level (20 points total)
• Can be increased every 5 levels (i.e., Lv10 5th skill = Lv170)
• Has a 1-minute cooldown (the CC “error” is there to prevent people from CCing in order to “cheat” the cooldown time)

Now, onto the 5th Skill Quests. 5th Skill Quests work very similarly to Guild Mission Scrolls. First of all, you’ll need to find a 5th Skill Scroll 1 in order to begin the series of quests. This scroll is an Event inventory item that has a low chance of dropping from various mobs throughout the game (well-known mobs include those in White Chapel and Asgard; full list will come later).

While you need to be Lv125 to learn your 5th skill, you only have to be Lv120 to start the 5th Skill Quests. Upon opening the 5th Skill Scroll 1, you’ll get a random “Rank 1″ Quest (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc..), just like Guild Mission Scrolls. Once you complete the 1-X quest, you’ll be given the next scroll, 5th Skill Scroll 2. This goes on until the 10th scroll, where there is only ONE quest (10-1).

After completing all 10 5th Skill Scroll Quests, NPC Ases will give you a DS Coin as your final quest reward. Why is it called a DS Coin? Most likely because in jLT, 5th Skills are called 必殺スキル (hissatsu skill). 必殺 can be translated as “Certain Kill” or “Deadly (thus, DS = “Deadly Skill”). You can exchange your DS Coin for the desired 5th Skill of your choice at NPC Ases.

Alright, let’s see what we actually have to do in order to obtain our 5th skills! This quest list is organized by rank. Some names (or even quest objectives) may be drastically different in OGP’s version as this is taken from jWiki. Hopefully this can at least serve as a gauging of effort needed to get your 5th skills.

Also, I’ve only typed this up today without logging into LT, so the specific english map names of the individual forest/ancient forest/etc areas escaped me. I’ll log in soon and edit this when I can.

 Er, wow q_q; I apologize for not updating in a really really long time, but a lot of things happened (such as the GA system, Spring semester at college, etc) orz. I promise I’ll make a new “spring” layout soon, since it’s almost April and I think Choky needs to hibernate now >_>;

 Anyways, to make this post useful, here’s the upgrade success rates for the higher-level Colosseum weapons, aka the ones that go to +20, don’t change in level requirement, and are, in a word, “hax”.
